Hello lovely sewing peeps!
My second make for the Minerva Craft Blogger Network is now up! You can read about my adventure sewing up Simplicity 8213, the ‘Project Runway’ dress (a pattern specifically designed for scuba) here. I’d love to know what you think; it was my second time sewing with scuba but the first time ever to attempt putting an invisible zip into a lined bodice!
(You can read about my first make with Scuba here).
And now I’m off to pre-wash some lovely new fabrics that have just arrived. I’ve got two very different projects coming up here soon…but perhaps I’ll just sneak in another cup of coffee ☕️ first!
Until next time,
Thanks love; as you know I really appreciate your support and love following your journey too! Loving your new vest!!! 😘😘😘

Gorgeous dress! I love the shoulder detail and the slight very elegant sheen to the fabric. I also can’t get over how beautiful this color is on you. Also, the dress looks so good both belted and now. It’s a win!

Thank you Clemence! I do too, it gives it almost a stronger edge I feel, so it’s not too girly maybe?! Xx

Thanks Emma! I’m slightly terrified of prints if I’m honest!!! 😂but yeah I think block colour can make a big statement too can’t it! Xx

Looks great. The fabric looks really classic, great choice to go block colour when there’s so many scuba prints!!

Thank you, I know exactly what you mean! My lining was quite lightweight so I felt it was less likely to ‘fight’ but yeah it was a case of gritting teeth and hoping for the best!! X

Beautiful dress! It suits you to a tee honestly. And putting a zipper in a lined garment I haven’t done yet myself (my fear is that it would wave like mad and at the end of a working so hard to get to that spot it would be ruined!) but I know we all need to build in challenges along the way 🙂
