Helloooo! How ya doing?! I know I've been absent a lot these last 12 months; I've just posted a blog talking about my experience of the last year. It's been a difficult journey but I'm thankful for it in many ways - the post is personal and some may find it a difficult as it touches upon bereavement, the pandemic and my journey towards accepting my own 'disabilities' (so please *don't* read if you're triggered by these topics).
You know I love a good sewing gadget?! Well, grab a โ˜• because I've got an overview of SEVEN new ones that have all made it into my faves list recently, quickly becoming absolute essentials in my kit!
Happy with my twin needled hem on my latest #adrienneblouse ... I used hem tape to stabilise in place in readiness for the topstitching; saves having to bother pinning in place as well!
I love making my own piping and it's incredibly simple to do ... I always use at least 2" wide bias strips, fold and press in half width ways, insert piping cord along this pressed centre mark; sew with a zipper foot and needle adjusted left if possible to butt your stitches as close to the cord as you can... then simply trim back the seam allowance to match your pattern requirements!
The finished mini-pouf for my mini-me!
Whilst I'm waiting for my Little Miss to deign to allow me to photograph her in her just-finished jeans ๐Ÿ™„, I'll show you another #closetcorepatterns pouf under construction... how cute is this caravan canvas?!
I thought I'd show you my very first attempt at embroidery ... given that hand-sewing isn't my best skill, I thought I'd struggle with this .... but, I loved it!
Making a pair of jeggings for my Miss; I've graded between four different sizes in an attempt to achieve the fit she wants! The denim doesn't have quite enough stretch, so even though we baste-fit these, I'm still not 100% certain they're gonna work out!
